The ALC Logo
The Asian Ladies Club of Switzerland the name of our club. The ALC logo was designed by Hejune Park, a graphic artist from South Korea. In March 30, 2001 it became the official logo for our club.
The meaning of the ALC Logo:
The round shapes mean femininity, wholeness, oneness, global reach; it can also mean the world. Two overlapping circles meaning assimilation of two worlds, the eastern and western culture, the third full circle representing the ying and yang symbols in the middle of C, is the precious balance that is seemingly protected by the curves of the letter. It also symbolizes the pearl of wisdom. The two lines of red that makes the circle seem complete, comes from the colours of Switzerland, it signifies our presence here in this country. It helps us make our search for balance and harmony in this phase of our life more acceptable. The dark and light shades of the letter symbolize duality of our situation. It may also signify the mountainous geography of Switzerland. We may also look at it as a wave, a constant, a source of energy. The protruding leg of the letter A could mean aggression for some, but it guides the viewer’s eyes to take the whole symbolic and asserts its position to lead without being afraid to declare its goals and intentions. It is a powerful symbol and one that appropriately expresses the purposes and goals of the club and the many women behind it.
The logo at once declares itself as Asian, feminine and strong. The colours and curves convey energy and mobility.
