   Yosie-2

Yosiana Weiss

President

Yosie has been a member of ALC since 7 years. She is our current Webmaster and has served as ALC Vice President–Membership from 2006-08. She has also organized various activities for ALC and donated one of her paintings as one of the Grand Prizes at the 2008 ALC Christmas Party.

She enjoys being a member of ALC, which gave her a chance to practice her computer skills and be acquainted and make friends with Asian ladies living in Switzerland. She is grateful for all that ALC had given to her and looks forward to make a more effective contribution to the role of ALC President and promote more interaction among the members. She feels that her past Board experience and position as VP in ALC, varied interests and energy will be a positive contribution to the ALC Board 2010-2012.

Yosie was born and grew up in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. She first moved to Switzerland in 2001 and has lived here since. She’s married to her German husband, Thomas, and they have 3 boys.

After earning a degree in Commerce-Computer Science from Bandung, West Java, she worked at an Indonesian 5-Star Hotel. Her hobbies are painting and drawing, which she learned at a painting school for many years. She also likes skiing, gardening, cooking and singing. As a child, the Indonesian TV had granted her prizes, both in drawing/painting and singing contests.

In her free time, Yosie participates in community service, among others, the “Kochtag” for the “Kindergarten” of her village. She is also a member of the Women’s Sports Club in her village and “Hosanna”, an Indonesian mixed choir.

As a token of thanks to ALC and the wish for our club’s continuity, she would like to contribute her time and efforts and serve the club as its President. She is convinced that, together with the other ALC Board, she could uphold and continue the work that had been done by the ALC Executive Board of the past 21 years, especially ALC’s aim of friendship, culture understanding and members’ joy.
